NEW SOUTH WALES PAYROLL TAX
 
IMPORTANT INFORMATION 

A new payroll tax rebate of $4,000 per full time employee (pro rata for part-time staff) to employers will apply to new positions filled on or after 1 July 2011 and will continue until 100,000 new jobs are created.

Employers will receive the rebate in two instalments paid after the first and second anniversaries of the hiring of a new employee.

To be eligible for the rebate, employers will need to register a new employee with the Office of State Revenue within 30 days after the employee commences work.

New South Wales Payroll Tax Threshold & Rate 

The payroll tax threshold for New South Wales is indexed each year.

The new threshold from 1 July 2011 will be $678,000.

The rate of payroll tax from 1 July 2011 is 5.45%
